How to Build a Custom Flip Animation Effect in PowerPoint For Your Website

In this article, we will talk about enriching your presentations with an interactive 3D effect. It’s always very exciting for the viewer to be able to control objects on a slide. This article will teach you to create objects that can be flipped using PowerPoint’s animation effects.

Wondering how we made a PowerPoint object play on a web page? The trick is to have a PowerPoint slide turned into web-ready Flash or HTML5 format. With the iSpring Converter Pro, you can create a perfect Flash+HTML5 copy of a PPT file, keeping all animations, slide transitions and interactive content perfectly intact. Published presentations will be supported by desktops, laptops and mobile devices including iPads, iPhones and Android tablets.

Here are the instructions on how to build Flip Custom Animation:

Step 1. On a slide, place two pictures of the same size that represent two sides of one object.

For example, we are using these two pictures of the Earth’s two hemispheres:

Step 2. Now we add the following animation effects to each of them in order to make them move the right way (This sample was created with PowerPoint 2007):

  1. Object 1 – Collapse exit effect – on click
  2. Object 2 – Stretch entrance effect – after previous
  3. Object 2 – Collapse exit effect – on click
  4. Object 1 – Stretch entrance effect – after previous

To make the picture flip smoothly, set all four effects to run at equal speed. For our example, we selected Very Fast.

Step 3. Place the front picture on top of the back one.

For our example, we put Object 1 over Object 2. To control the position of the objects, use the Send to Back and/or Bring to Front PowerPoint options from the right-click context menu.

Step 4. Preview your slide to make sure the picture flips over the right way.

Flip custom animation effects can only be built in PowerPoint 2003 and PowerPoint 2007 as Stretch and Collapse effects can’t be applied in PowerPoint 2010.

I love iSpring because it’s awesomely easy to convert Powerpoint to Flash in just a few clicks while still preserving all of the animations and transitions.
