This article will help you set up controlled navigation in your course to let learners study the material within the intended learning path.
Situation 1
You would like to restrict your learners from moving back from the current slide.
-
1
Click the “Publish” button on the toolbar.
-
2
The “Publish Presentation” window will open. Go to the “Playback and Navigation” tab and choose “Forward only” in the drop-down list.
Your learners will be able to go forward only. Going back is prohibited.

- 1Click the “Presentation Explorer” button. The Presentation Explorer window will open.
-
2
Choose the slide you need to apply navigation rules to and click the “Lock” button.
Lock option is intended to keep the user at the current slide.
Note: to completely restrict navigation through the course, disable Automatic and On-click navigation.
Situation 3
You need to hide slide that is skipped during presentation playback, but is available via hyperlinks from other slides.
- 1Click the “Presentation Explorer” button. The Presentation Explorer window will open.

- 1Click the “Presentation Explorer” button. The Presentation Explorer window will open.
-
2
Click the “Branching” button.
-
